Remote Learning and Book Collections

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you are all safe and well during this challenging time.

As you will have heard in the media, school will not reopen on Monday, 11th January in an effort to reduce the incidence of Covid 19. While we are disappointed we cannot return to school, we understand that this decision is for the greater good of all in our school community.

Teachers will continue to engage with your child(ren) and their learning through the online platform Seesaw, and will send lessons and activities through this medium.

In order for children to engage in some activities they will need some of their books and we propose to distribute books on Monday morning, 11th January, between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

Family surnames will be used to stagger book collection-

A-F 10.30am to 11am,

G-M 11.10am to 11.40am,

N-Z from 11.50am to 12.20pm.

For families with more than one child attending the school, family sets of books will be left together on the class table of the oldest child in the family.

Please adhere to all social distancing requirements when coming to the school, wear a face mask and please collect and leave without delay. We request that only one member of the household enters the school to collect books. If you or any family member has tested positive for Covid, or are a close contact, please DO NOT come to the school. Contact your child’s class teacher and we can try to make an alternative arrangement.

Books will be on a table in alphabetical order inside the door that your eldest child enters and exits since their return to school in September, with the teacher’s name pinned on it.

Junior Infants/ Senior Infants/ Ms Godkin’s 1st & 2nd/Ms Osborne’s 2nd will be in the gym (use the green gate to the left of the school at the bike shelter and continue up the path, follow the path to the right at the back of the school and the gym door is the second door).

Ms Gahan’s /Mr. Byrne’s 6th will be at Mr. Byrne’s door (use the green gate to the left of the school at the bike shelter and continue up the path. Mr Byrne’s door is the first door)

If you need to discuss your ability to access to this online platform, Seesaw, or availability of ICT devices with the Principal, please email secretary@riverchapelns.com requesting a call back by Monday morning.

Class Teacher are contactable via email and their emails are available on the school website under info for parents or please click link below.

Keep safe and we look forward to reopening soon,

Regards,

Martina Prendergast.
